Milkweed in winter

Even in winter, the common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) continues to release it’s fluffy, silky soft seeds, populating our back field with lots of beautiful milkweed plants that serve as an exclusive food source for many insect species and as a gorgeous cutflower in our spring/summer wildlflower bouquets!
