Rushes are round

Rushes (Juncus sp.) occur around our farm pond and also in moist patches in our woodland area.  I suspect they are two different species, though I haven’t yet keyed them out.  Even in winter, these plants are striking with their “round” leaves and the seed heads (influroescences) from last year.
