Taking a chance on an early spring

To get a jump start on the season, I decided to plant one 100′ row of beets and turnips earlier than usual this year under a row cover that helps heat up the soil and keep temperatures a few degrees warmer.  Depending upon the weather, the seeds may not germinate for a few weeks.  We’re hoping to set out lettuce, cilantro, parsley, nasturtium, and kale transplants in 2-4 weeks.
