The first narcissus of the year

It looks as though the long term 10-day forecast is showing a patch of warmer weather.  Coupled with the fact that the days are growing longer, this will be the cue for the narcissus to begin to bloom.  This fall we found a great source for organic bulbs out of Virginia, so not only will our narcissus this year be raised sustainably, but the bulbs that we planted are also free of synthetic chemicals.  We have planted three wonderful varieties, Ice Follies, Actaea, and Dutch Master.  We also have some varieties planted in previous years (Salome and Delibes) that will be producing lots of flowers.  Spring is so close I can taste it!
