This time of year I sometimes like to take calculated gardening risks. Even though it could still dip well below 25 if the weather patterns changed, we’ve decided to go ahead and set out some spring transplants. This weekend we took some of the kale, lettuce, dill, and nasturtium transplants and planted them in their rows. But we also placed our row cover fabric over them. So even if the temperature dips down to 25 or so, the plants will likely continue to grow.
If these transplants don’t work out, I’ll go back in a few weeks and seed in the plants and hope for the best.
