Straw bales and old windows repurposed

In addition to growing a lot of flowers, herbs, and produce for market, we like to have a small side garden for a few things we like to harvest quickly for our own meals (radish, carrots, lettuce, onions, etc.).  This year, we’re using straw bales (certified organic from the wonderful folks at Cohen Farm) as borders for raised beds and old windows that Christopher’s dad had available for frost/freeze protection.  So far, so good.  Once the year is up, we can use the old straw/soil mixture for other projects or rebuild the beds for next year.
